The virus will be with us for a long time if we don’t make immediate changes to some simple everyday lifestyles and small mistakes that most of us overlook each day. Be sure to lather the backs of your hands and wrists, between your fingers, and under your nails. 3 Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice. 4 Rinse your hands well under clean, running water. Dry your hands with a clean towel.

Finally, the error that 90% of us always overlook is that you should use a paper towel to turn off the top and to open the restroom door. By doing this, you won’t cross-contaminate your hands again with the dirty tap and door handles that you had contaminated when first touched with your dirty hands. Replacing handled taps with higher value touchless ones will reduce the number of surfaces users of sinks will have to touch, and thus potentially limit the spread of disease in these spaces especially among our children.
